Tomorrow night (Wednesday) at midnight EDT, The Bible Experiment Kickstarter campaign will end. We hit our initial goal weeks ago. The last few weeks have been about seeing how many more people would want to join us. Overall, I’ve loved this experience. Parts of it are hard—mainly constantly asking people for help. I’ve spent several nights thinking that maybe I’m overdoing it. Maybe I’m coming off desperate. Maybe my friends are starting to hate me. (I have issues.)

Today, though, I woke up a little sad that the Kickstarter portion is ending. For all the weirdness around it, I have had a front row seat to see 368 people from all over the world come together around a cause we all passionately believe in. I’ve had the blessing of being able to thank every one of them individually. It’s been awesome.

What strikes me today is that we should end as boldly as we began. Why wouldn’t like-minded people want to join us in this? If I’ve sent one too many emails or linked one too many times to Facebook for your liking, I’m sorry I’ve bugged you. That wasn’t my intent. But I’m doing it because I believe with all my heart that this is good for everyone involved.

It’s a Win/Win/Win.

My team wins. We were born to tell stories. We love the stories of the Bible. We are good at doing this. The more you help us now, the more we can do what we’ve been called to do.

You win. It feels good to be a part of something like this. Science shows us that giving to others triggers the same parts of our brain as ice cream and chocolate—and without the calories. But even beyond that, through the reward system you can get a great date night, VIP party passes, DVDs and more. You give and get at the same time. Seems like a good deal.

Others win. This is probably what matters most. I believe hundreds of thousands will hear these stories of hope from the movement we’re kickstarting now through the live events and video curriculum to follow. It’s worth it.

The clock is ticking. Once midnight hits tomorrow we will roll our sleeves up and get to work telling these stories in the best way possible. Until then, we have a few hours to invite others in.

Join us. It’s a win for everyone.
