I remember 16 when my life turned with a key.
The world was mine and I had everywhere to be.
She was two bad shades of yellow,
played only AM radio,
Still rode like the dream.
I had known for years,
Only movement brought me peace.
I spent years carving lines between places called Home,
Or going in circles all adrift and alone.
Roads are more than metaphors for me.
They are, quite literally,
the only place
I know how to be.
Like as long as I move
I’m on my way towards
Some Thing.
Away from
Every Thing.
Free …
Yet Chained
To Possibility.
