my world is loud.
a chaotic symphony.
a stew of noise.
i’m a glutton for babel.
a junkie for acclaim.
i’ve both soared and starved.
felt rich then poor.
but there have been moments…
of unexpected respite.
and melodic quiet.
a simple whisper saying,
“stop spinning and listen to me.
stop chasing and dance with me.
stop screaming and hum with me.
your world is quite loud…
just hum with me.”

-a poem (or a grouping of words) I wrote in 2008 while reading The Artist’s Way. In all seriousness, this book changed my life.
