A Moist Environment For Your Organs

Here’s an “easy” good deed for some, but a hard one for me.

Today’s good deed: DRINK EIGHT GLASSES OF WATER

We have to take care of ourselves. If we’re not up to speed, we can’t do good deeds for anyone else. Airlines tell us to put on our oxygen masks first in an emergency for this exact reason.

Now … I know all of the benefits of drinking 8 glasses of water a day. I’m sure you do too.

Drinking lots of water:

– Helps curb your appetite
– Gives you radiant skin
– Supports regular digestion
– Flushes out toxins
– Provides a moist environment for your organs

That last one just sounds dirty.

Btw, the most energy I’ve ever experienced was the morning after a night of doing a ‘Power Hour.’ Typically a person would drink a shot of beer every minute for an hour in a PH. I drank water cause I was trying to take the piss out of friends who were drinking beer. Turns out, I was the one who had to take the piss … repeatedly.

There are TONS of benefits to drinking water, but it’s still a struggle to down eight glasses a day.

Actually, not everyone holds to the “8 by 8” rule. Weight Watchers says 6. At least they did when I attended meetings a bajillion years ago. And some scientists say only 1 or 2 glasses a day are sufficient.

But me, I tend to subscribe to what the Mayo Clinic has to say.

I need as much water as I can get. I’m pretty bad. Sometimes I go for days without drinking water. And I know what you’re thinking. “But Holly, you get water out of the food you eat.” Oh, yeah? How much water have you squeezed out of a BBQ chicken pizza lately?

Today, however, I’m doing myself a solid. I’m gonna drink 8 glasses of water and keep all of my organs nice and moist. Yeah. That still sounds dirty.

Here are some good tips I found on getting more water into your daily diet.

Hope it was helpful! I gotta go.

I gotta pee.

She is an alum of the improvisational companies Boom Chicago and The Second City. Holly currently works on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore as a writer and performer.
